On-Site Acoustic Testing provides independent industrial noise measurement and technical consulting for manufacturing plants, processing facilities, utilities, warehouses, transportation operations, construction environments, and other workplaces where equipment or operational noise must be documented objectively.
Industrial and machinery noise testing
Field measurements can be used to characterize machinery and process noise, identify dominant sources, evaluate employee exposure, document property-line conditions, compare operating modes, and verify the effect of noise-control changes.
- Machinery and equipment noise measurement
- Octave-band and one-third-octave-band analysis
- Source localization and diagnostic testing
- Before-and-after mitigation measurements
- Facility and production-area noise surveys
- Property-line and environmental noise measurements
- Long-term and remote noise monitoring
Occupational noise and employee exposure
For workplace exposure questions, OSAT can perform area sound-level surveys, personal noise dosimetry, and time-weighted exposure measurements. Testing can support occupational-noise programs, engineering decisions, documentation of changing operating conditions, and investigation of specific employee concerns.
- OSHA noise consulting and workplace surveys
- Personal noise dosimetry and time-weighted exposure measurements
- Representative task and process measurements
- Frequency analysis to support engineering controls
Equipment, process, and product noise
Industrial assignments can range from a single motor, fan, pump, compressor, production machine, or packaged system to a facility-wide investigation. Measurements can also support product development, procurement, acceptance, and verification of manufacturer noise data.
Applicable standards and project criteria
Testing can be developed around OSHA requirements, ASTM, ANSI, ISO, owner criteria, equipment specifications, community-noise limits, or a project-specific measurement protocol. The appropriate method depends on whether the objective is employee exposure, source characterization, environmental impact, product performance, or verification of a stated requirement.
Independent field verification
OSAT does not sell noise-control products or installation work. Our role is to measure actual conditions, identify significant sources and frequency content, document operating conditions, and provide technical findings that can be used for engineering, compliance, troubleshooting, commissioning, or mitigation verification.
