Noise, Sound and Vibration Measurements

OSAT measures noise, sound transmission and vibration in residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and government facilities throughout the United States.

Common Noise Sources

  • HVAC systems, chillers, pumps, fans and generators
  • Industrial machinery and rotating equipment
  • Traffic, aircraft and community noise
  • Restaurants, bars, gyms and entertainment venues
  • Construction and building-service equipment
  • Plumbing, elevators and other building infrastructure

Building Sound Transmission

Testing can address airborne sound through walls, doors, windows and façades as well as impact noise through floor-ceiling assemblies. See our building-acoustics testing services.

Workplace and Industrial Measurements

Services include occupational noise measurements, personal dosimetry, machinery noise, vibration, long-term monitoring and frequency-spectrum analysis. OSAT also provides indoor-air-quality and light-level measurements for appropriate projects.

Specialized Investigations

For difficult or intermittent problems, testing can incorporate long-term logging, sound intensity, directional measurements and specialized source localization.

Discuss a Measurement Problem

Tell us what is being heard or felt, when it occurs, where it is most noticeable and what question the testing needs to answer.

Please list the city, state/province, and country where testing will take place.
Select all that apply.
Optional. Examples: ASTM, ISO, ANSI, ICD-705, project specification, code requirement, or acceptance criterion.
If yes, only indicate that secure handling is required. Do not submit classified, CUI, export-controlled, or other sensitive information through this form.
List the project criteria and type of testing required, if known (noise survey, dosimetric, AIIC, ASTC, NIC, air quality, etc.)
